Liberia faces a serious health issue with stroke. Liberia and other sub-Saharan African nations probably experience a high stroke burden, despite data scarcity. Obstacles involve a weak public health response, scarce healthcare and diagnostic resources, and no health insurance. Though not the top killer, stroke causes disability and is a big health issue there.
