My Story

Dr. Monee Sherman is a public health professional with expertise in health education, research, and healthcare administration. His work focuses on promoting health equity, building robust health systems, and enhancing population health outcomes by utilizing evidence-based strategies, community involvement, and collaborative efforts across disciplines. His academic and professional training reflects a commitment to addressing complex public health challenges through leadership, research, policy development, and health education.

Dr. Sherman holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management, where he built a strong foundation in healthcare operations, organizational leadership, quality improvement, and healthcare finance. His Master of Healthcare Administration equipped him with expertise in strategic planning, policy, and operational management, enabling him to lead and improve healthcare organizations.

Dr. Sherman’s dedication to disease prevention and population health led him to earn a Ph.D. in Public Health, concentrating on epidemiology. His expertise in epidemiologic techniques, disease monitoring, outbreak analysis, biostatistics, health disparities, and public health research was honed by this specialization. He pursued a post-baccalaureate certificate in public policy to enhance his knowledge of how governments decide and reform health systems. This program prepared him to analyze, create, and champion policies aimed at improving public health results locally, nationally, and globally.

Dr. Sherman enhanced his knowledge of behavioral and community health through a Master of Science in Health Education and Promotion, where he concentrated on health behavior theory, community health needs assessment, program planning, evaluation, coalition development, and health communication. His future academic pursuits involve a Ph.D. in Health Education and Promotion, where his research will focus on community-based participatory research, chronic disease prevention, health equity, implementation science, and sustainable global health interventions.

Dr. Sherman has focused his professional life on translating scientific discoveries into actionable public health plans for the benefit of underserved populations. His diverse training enables him to combine epidemiology, healthcare administration, health education, policy analysis, and community engagement. This allows him to tackle the social determinants of health and improve healthcare systems.
